ProMaster Installation Instructions

The ProMaster.zip file contains a set of ProMaster financials and logistics 
modules, with sample data. This version of ProMaster is compatible with APPX 
4.2.9 or later on either the Windows or Linux platforms.

To install and run ProMaster, you first need to install APPX 4.2.9 on a 
suitable laptop, desktop or server. To do this, please follow the procedure 
on the APPX web site: http://www.tryappx.com/. ProMaster runs only with the 
APPX Desktop Client, so you will need to install this too.

The next step is to obtain a supplementary APPX registration (licence key) 
that allows you to run ProMaster. Send your APPX registration's Verification 
Code to us using the Contact Us form on the ProMaster Software web site: 
http://www.promastersoftware.com/contactus.html.

When you receive your supplementary APPX Registration, follow the 
accompanying instructions to register the ProMaster licence.

Extract the contents of the ProMaster.zip file to the APPX data folder. This 
is usually C:\APPX\data\ in Windows and /usr/local/appx/data/ in Linux. (You 
may have changed the location when you installed APPX.) This should create 
two new subfolders: 80 and PRO. (Please check first that these subfolders do 
not exist.)

Now, register the ProMaster applications and database from within APPX 
System Administration.

Add the following applications:
PAP 80 ProMaster Purchase Ledger
PAR 80 ProMaster Sales Ledger
PGL 80 ProMaster General Ledger
PIM 80 ProMaster Inventory Management
PMS 80 ProMaster Marketing Statistics
PPO 80 ProMaster Purchase Orders
PSO 80 ProMaster Sales Orders
PSY 80 ProMaster System
PVA 80 ProMaster VAT / Intrastat
and create the corresponding design files. (It should report "File Already 
Exists" for each file.)

Add the following database:
PRO ProMaster Sample Data
with PSY 80 as its Start Up Application. Then add each ProMaster application 
to the database as a Related Application and create the corresponding 
database files. (It should report "File Already Exists" for each file.)

You are now ready to run ProMaster! Simply run the PRO database from the 
main APPX menu. Context help is available throughout ProMaster by pressing 
the F1 key.
